Extremely Rare 1962 Mid-Century Modern Adam + Eve Candlesticks by Gunnar Kanevad (Pair)
A beautiful, matching pair of hand-carved solid wood candlesticks by renowned Swedish master woodcarver Gunnar Kanevad. Created in 1962 at his historic workshop in Gamla Linköping, Sweden, this set features Kanevad’s signature organic, fluid silhouettes that perfectly capture peak Scandinavian mid-century modern design.
The two pieces are carved as a stylized abstract couple. One features a voluptuous, rounded silhouette with subtle hand-incised detailing, while the other features an architectural, tapered frame centered around a clean heart cutout. Together, they create a striking, balanced visual narrative.
Both pieces are entirely original, displaying a gorgeous, warm natural wood grain and a rich vintage patina. The underside of the base features the crisp, authentic burned studio stamp: "KANEVAD SWEDEN 1962."
A rare, highly collectible find for a mantle, credenza, or minimalist dining table.
